The Catholic Professionals of Greater Philadelphia™ is a networking organization with the goal of educating and fostering relationships among Catholic professionals in the Greater Philadelphia region. Participants strive to keep Jesus Christ and their Catholic faith at the core of their professional and personal development. Registration in our group is free as are our events!
Organized in September of 2009 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our hope is to bring together and foster relationships between Catholic professionals who live and work in the Philadelphia metro area via face-to-face and online networking.
A bit of our history: In 2009, Nick Gibboni found himself searching for professional networking groups that were also grounded in the faith. He discovered that local groups of that kind were virtually non-existent. His unsuccessful search led to the establishment of the Catholic Professionals of Greater Philadelphia™ (CPGP).
“This group was really founded by the Holy Spirit but stemmed out of my own professional needs,” Gibboni said. “I needed to find clients, and I eventually came across LinkedIn. I searched for a Catholic professional group in the greater Philadelphia area but couldn’t find one. It was then that I felt the Lord prompting me to start one. The Catholic Professionals of Greater Philadelphia was eventually born, and I felt that I needed to dedicate the group to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.”
The CPGP began as an online social networking group on LinkedIn, and after many discussions and emails now has over 1000 participants. Today we consistently register 80-120 for each event and have had very generous sponsors pay fully for all of our events to date! God-willing we hope to continue this trend going forward.
